Tamil ‘Pasanga’ Bagged 4 National Awards in the 57th Indian National Film Awards

In the 57th ‘Indian National Film Awards’-2010, the Malayalam Film ‘Kutty Srank’ with Mammooty in the lead, bagged 5 Awards for :-

  • The Best Film
  • The Best cinematography,
  • The Best screenplay,
  • The Best costume and
  • A Special Jury Recognition (shared with Bollywood hit “Kaminey” and Malayalam film “Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja”.)

However, the Malayalam Mega-Star -Mammooty has missed “The Best Actor ” Award.

And the Bollywood’s ‘Big B’-Amitabh Bachchan, for his performance in the Hindi Film “Paa” has won:-“The Best Actor Award”.
The Hindi Film -“Paa” also got:-

  • “The Best Hindi Film Award” and

Arundhuti Nag received ‘the best supporting actress’ Award for “Paa” and
Chritein Tinsley and Dominic Till got “The Best Make-Up Award” for ‘Paa’.

Amir Khan Starred “3 Idiots” won:-

  • “The Best Popular Movie Award” and
  • Swanand Kirkere, for the emotional number ‘Behti hawa sa tha woh’ in “3 Idiots” bagged “The best lyrics award” .

Kerala Verma Pazasi Raja was given “The Award For The Best Music Direction” in – Dev D (Hindi)- and
Amit Trivedi was given ‘The Best Music Director’ Award (Songs) and
Ilayaraja was given ‘The Best Music Director’ Award (Background Score).Raykesh Omprakash Mehra’s “Delhi 6” bagged:-

  • The ‘Nargis Dutt Award’ for ‘The Best Feature Film on National Integration’ and

Shyam Benegal’s “Well Done Abba” was chosen as:-

  • “The Best Film on Social Issues”.

The Bengali Film “Abohoman” got:-

  • “The Best Bengali Film Award” and
  • Ananya Chatterjee was named ‘The best actress’ for her role in the Bengali film “Abohoman”
  • Abohoman’s Director Rituparno Ghosh got‘The Best Director Award’ and
  • Abohoman’s Editor Arghyakamal Mitra got‘The Best Editor Award’.

The Tamil Film “Pasanga” was given :-

  • “The Best Tamil Film” Award and
  • ‘Pasanga’-Director Pandiraj got the “Award For The Best Dialogue” and
  • Child Artists -Shriram and Kishore ( who playled the characters- Jeeva and Anbukkarasu) who acted in the ‘Pasanga’ were given the Awards for “The Best Child Artists”.
