Tamilnadu Chief Minister -J Jayalalitha’s “Free Lap Top Computers to Students”- Scheme -Launch on Perarignar Anna’s Birth Annivarsary Day

According to the Tamilnadu Chief Minister Selvi.J. Jayalalitha, her government’s major focus is on quality education and the government will ensure that every possible facility will reach the students for enabling them to realize their full potentials and students will not suffer any deprivation of:

  • uniforms,
  • text books
  • shoes
  • geometry boxes and
  • laptop computers.

Tamilnadu Chief Minister Selvi J.Jayalalitha’s ‘Poll Promises’ has included Supply of Free Laptop to School and College Students in the State.

The scheme, the first-of-its-kind in the country, would be applicable to 68 Lakhs students of government-aided:

  • higher secondary schools,
  • arts and science colleges,
  • engineering colleges and
  • polytechnic colleges

in Tamilnadu.

The scheme aims to empower students, particularly from rural areas, to enhance their skills and ability in consumer usage.

As promised in the Election Manifesto of “AIADMK”/Selvi J.Jayalalitha the ‘Free Laptop to Students’ scheme is ready for launch and the first lot of 9.12 Lakhs ‘Laptops’ will be distributed on 15th September 2011/ the birth anniversary of the former Chief Minister Perarignar C.N. Annadurai.

The total Project cost is Rs. 10,200 Crores and the Tamilnadu Government has allocated Rs . 12 .Crores for the first year- 2011.

The Government of Tamilnadu has assigned Electronic Corporation of Tamil Nadu (ELCOT), having rich experience and performance on large scale procurement of laptops as the “Nodal Agency” for the procurement and distribution of the laptops.

Already popular IT Companies:

  • Hewlett-Packard (HP) and
  • Acer

have already supplied a part of the first lot of laptops for the launch on 15th September 2011. The procurement process is going on for the remaining laptops by global tender and bidding managed by the Nodal Agency-“ELCOT”.

i would certainly wait for this scheme . so that it may help for our business purpose, as we service laptops .naveen from mogappair east
