Narendra Modi was sworn in as the 14th Prime Minister of India on 26th May 2014 at 06 00 pm at the ‘open forecourt’ of Rashtrapati Bhavan, Newdelhi.

The swearing in ceremony of Narendra Modi and a team of ministers started exactly at 06 00 pm with the “National Anthem”.

The ceremony ended exactly at 07 30 pm as scheduled, with the ‘National Anthem’.

After Narendra Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India, Ministers in his Cabinet ( 23 Cabinet Ministers, 10 Ministers of State with Independent Charge and 12 Ministers of State – a total of 45 Ministers, were sworn in.

The portfolios allocated to the ministers are as given below. 

Narendra Modi will be the Prime Minister  and he will look after the following portfolios:

  • Personnel, 
  • Public-Grievances, 
  • Pensions,
  • The Department of Atomic Energy and 
  • The Department of Space.

Also, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in charge of the Ministries/Departments not specifically allocated to any of the ministers.

 (Unfortunately on 03rd June 2014, within 8 days of taking over as a Cabinet Minister, Mr.Gopinath Munde met with a fatal  ‘Road Accident’, while going to the Delhi-Airport in his car,  for his  flight to Mumbai, when his car had an head on collision with an ‘Indica’. 

Mr.Gopinath Munde was taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences/AIIMS for treatment and he expired  due to  a massive heart attack following the serious internal injuries to the head and chest sustained in the road  accident.

Our hearty condolences to the grieved and shocked family members of Mr.Gopinath Munde and the ruling party-BJP. )
