Sports persons deputed abroad will get Daily Pocket Money

Indian Players and other members of various sports activities, officially deputed as part of the Government’s contingent have to spend on miscellaneous expenses abroad. They have been demanding for ‘pocket money’ for playing abroad.

The Union Sports Ministry has issued orders on 11th November 2009 to all ‘National Sports Federations’ to provide USD25/- (around Rs 1000/-) per day to sports people deputed to other countries with immediate effect.The above decision of the Government is certainly an encouraging step. This will boost the spirit of the ordinary sports people other than “Sports-Stars”, playing for India, in various sports activities.
