New Voters Guide – Election Day in India – General Election 2019

As we are nearing to the general elections. The only way of participating in the process of nation – building is to vote on the Election Day. There are around 15 million new voters in the 18-19 years age group this time.

These 5 things will help the new voters

ELECTION DATES

The general elections in India is scheduled in 7 phases, starting from 11th April to 19th May 2019 to constitute the 17th Lok Sabha. Each constituencies has been allotted a specific date.The results of the elections will be declared on May 23 2019.

VOTER SLIP

Check the voters slip issued to you by the election office to know the name and address of the polling station also the election commission of India has provided the polling station maps in their website(www.psleci.nic.in).

ELECTION DAY TIMING

The polling booth generally opens from 7 am and closes by 6 pm. Where exceptions to few places like north eastern region, Manipur and Nagaland where it closes between 4 to 5 pm.

PROOF TO CARRY

Citizens must carry their voters ID, voters slip or any other photo ID proof to the polling station example Passport, Driving Licence (DL), PAN card, Aadhar card.

Please note do not carry Cameras, Laptops, mobile Phones  that are prohibited inside the polling station.
