Barrack Obama’s Victory in the US Presidential Elections and the future of India-US Relations

In the recently concluded US Presidential elections, Mr. Barrack Obama has been elected as the President of the United States, for a second term.

Mr. Obama or his rival, Republican candidate Mitt Romney did not express their views on India in detail during the 2012 campaign. The topic never came up during their debate on foreign policy.

However,it is the expectation of Indid that Mr. Obama would continue his approach to India in :

  • Expanding trade,
  • Ramping up military cooperation,
  • Staying out of the India-Pakistan Dispute over Kashmir and
  • Opposing outsourcing in IT field and forcing Indian IT Companies to hire US employees.
