Rahul Gandhi will not take up Prime Ministership now

Mr. Rahul Gandhi, the General Secretary of Indian National Congress said, in a Press Conference addressed by him along with Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, the External Affairs Minister of India, that if asked, he would refuse to take up the Prime Ministership as he does not have adequate “experience” to hold the post right now.

When asked about a post poll alliance with the Left Parties, Mr. Rahul Gandhi maintained his party’s stand saying, “Doors are open for all, not just the Left Parties only. The Congress is working towards development of a strong pro-poor youth party.” He assured that he was determined towards the initiative, which has already borne fruit in Punjab and Gujarat.
