Sangma Filed a Petition at the Supreme Court of India Challenging Mr.Pranab Mukherjee’s Election as the President of India

As expected, Mr. P.A.Sangma,
the former Speaker of the Lokh Sabha and
the opposition candidate for the President of India election 2012,
who was defeated by Mr. Pranab Mukherjee,
the former Finance Minister and
the UPA candidate for the President of India election 2012,
has filed a petition in the Supreme Court of India challenging the election of Mr. Pranab Mukerjee as the President of India.
As per Mr.Sangma’s petition to the Apex Court of India,  Mr. Pranab Mukherjee was holding an office of profit, as the Chairman of the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata:
  •  not only on the date of his filing the nomination for the President’s election,
  •  but also on the date of declaration of his election as the President of India,
  •  and even now as he had not resigned the post and  his letter of resignation is fabricated and forged and the Returning Officer for the President’s Election 2012  did not decide the issue of genuineness of the signatures on his purported resignation of Mr.Mukherjee from the post of  the Chairman of ISI Kolkata.

And Mr. Sangma has sought a declaration that the election of Mr. Mukherjee should be set aside and that he should be duly declared as the President of India.
