• Mr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam /Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, who had graduated in Physics from St.Joseph’s College, Tiruchirappalli (1951-1954), became a popular Atomic Scientist of India and became the 11th  President of India.

• Mr.N Gopalaswamy, who had graduated in Chemistry became the 15th  Chief Election Commissioner of India from 2006 to 2009..

• Mr. A R.Lakshmanan /Justice. A.R. Lakshmanan, who had graduated in Arts from St.Joseph’s College, Tiruchirappalli, became a Judge of the Supreme Court of India
