Complete List of Ministers in Dr.Manmohan Sing’s UPA-2- Cabinet After Reshuffle

Subsequent to Ms.Mamatha Bannerjee/ All India Trinamool Congress/ ‘TMC’s  withdrawal of support to the UPA-2 Government and
the resignations by the ‘TMC’ -Ministers from Dr.Manmohan Singh’s Cabinet,
the Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh has made a reshuffle and an expansion  of his cabinet.

After the reshuffle the  strength of the Council of Ministers has increased
 from 67 to 78.
(Cabinet Ministers-33, Ministers of State with Independent Charge-12 and Ministers of State-33)

According to Dr.Manmohan Singh, ‘probably and hopefully’, this reshuffle would be the last one of UPA 2, before the next General Elections of 2014.


The Prime Minister, Dr.Manmohan Singh took away portfolios from ministers holding more than one charge and filled in the vacancies created by the following factors:

  • exit of six Trinamool ministers-

-Mr. Mukul Roy – Railways (Cabinet Minister),
-Mr. Bandhyopadhyay- Minister of State For Health,
-Mr. Ahmed- Minister of State For Tourism,
-Mr. Sougata Roy-Minister of State For Urban Development,
-Mr. Adhkary- Minister of State For Information & Broadcasting.

  • death of Mr.Vilasrao Deshmukh and
  • resignation of the following eight ministers including the following ministers-
-Mr.S M Krishna,
-Mr. Virbhadra Singh,
-Ms.Ambika Soni,
-Mr.Mukul Wasnik and
-Mr.Subodh Kant Sahai.

29.    Mr. K.Rahman Khan-(Former Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman/ Ex- Minister of State in UPA-I  )-Minister of Minority Affairs ( portfolio of Minority Affairs has been  shifted from Mr.Salman Kurshid)
30.    Mr. Dinsha Patel – Minister of Mines ( earlier he was Minister of State for Mines and has been promoted as Cabinet Minister in Mines Ministry)
31.    Mr. V Kishore Chandra Deo – Minister of Tribal Affairs and Minister of Panchayati Raj
